🏁 My First Run in a Race Car!
In this immersive POV video, I take the wheel for the first time of a 350-horsepower Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR at Circuit de Bresse in France during a private test session with Optimum Racing.
This test took place under the guidance of Julien Paget, 2024 French Champion, to experience the sensations of a real TCR.
The camera is positioned just above my eyes for full onboard driving immersion.
In this session:
- First run in a race car
- Discovering the 6-speed sequential gearbox
- Several overtakes including a Porsche 911 and Nissan 350Z
- A long battle behind a McLaren 570S
- A big scare with cold tires, successfully saved
- Top speed reached: 200 km/h
- Best lap of the day: 1:34.500 (only 1s slower than Julien Paget)
Perfect conditions for this first test: sunny weather, dry track, and ideal temperature.
This session marks the beginning of a more ambitious project, with a clear goal: progressing toward the Michelin Le Mans Cup.
