This lap at Buttonwillow Raceway, recorded on July 22, 2017, resulted in a 2nd place finish in the MOD class for the Roadster Cup event. The Mazda Miata was running at 90° with 138 wheel horsepower and 225 NT01 tires on their 15th heat cycle.

The driver noted that the track was dirty, which affected their line. Having not driven on track for seven months, the driver felt they were approximately 0.5 seconds off their usual pace. Specific areas for improvement included timid and early braking, a missed opportunity for a wider line into Buttonhook, washing out in the cotton corners due to dirt, overslowing the exit from Busstop, not jumping Philhill, and the potential for later braking into Riverside for a wider and faster entry.
