1997: Formula Jedi Championship established as UK bike-engined single-seater category. Jedi F1000 introduced with MSA-homologated tubular steel chassis. Suzuki/Kawasaki 1.0L motorcycle engines, 180-200hp. Six-speed sequential gearbox. Cost-effective grassroots formula racing.
2000: Growing grid sizes establishing Formula 1000 as premier motorcycle-engined category. AP/Brembo 2-pot calipers, grooved disc brakes. ~3.0s 0-60 mph capability, 150 mph top speed. Driver development focus.
2005: Continued evolution incorporating modern motorcycle engine technology. Suzuki GSX-R1000 K5 specification becoming standard. Dry-sump lubrication, 14,000 rpm capability. Expanding amateur and professional driver participation.
