V700

The Kumho V700 is a track and competition tire designed for drivers seeking maximum grip and performance in dry conditions. With a UTQG treadwear rating of 50, this tire utilizes a very soft compound formulated to deliver exceptional levels of traction. It is a DOT-legal tire suitable for autocross and road racing applications.

The V700 features an asymmetric tread design. The tread design incorporates wide tread ribs to maximize dry cornering grip while enhancing handling and tread life. The center and inner shoulder portions of the tread design are comprised of short, stable tread blocks to further enhance handling.

Kumho recommends that the V700 be shaved to a tread depth of 3/32" - 4/32" for optimal dry track performance. Shaving the tire minimizes heat build-up and excessive wear that can occur with full tread depth. When new, the shoulder blocks are interrupted only by shallow lateral grooves. The tire's internal structure includes two steel belts reinforced by nylon cap plies to help stabilize the tread area and provide high-speed capability. Three rayon carcass plies with sidewall stiffeners promote quick steering response and high-temperature durability.

While the V700 offers impressive dry grip, drivers should exercise caution in wet conditions. Kumho advises that the V700 should only be used at full tread depth (6/32") on the track in wet conditions. Like all R-compound tires, the V700 is not intended for use in near-freezing temperatures, snow, or ice, and should be stored indoors above 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
