Lyaskovets Hillclimb Track Map
More details, lap times & videos for Lyaskovets Hillclimb

The Lyaskovets Hillclimb, nestled in the Veliko Tarnovo Province of Bulgaria, is a challenging and historic motorsport venue. Its origins trace back to the 1970s, quickly becoming a staple of the Bulgarian national hillclimb championship. The course's enduring appeal lies in its demanding nature and the picturesque scenery of the surrounding Balkan foothills.

The current circuit configuration stretches approximately 3.2 kilometers (2 miles), beginning with a relatively fast, sweeping section before tightening into a series of increasingly technical corners. The road surface is a mix of asphalt and concrete, presenting varying levels of grip and demanding careful car setup. The elevation change is significant, with an average gradient exceeding 6%, requiring drivers to manage power delivery and braking effectively. The layout features a combination of hairpin turns, blind crests, and off-camber corners, testing both the driver's skill and the car's handling capabilities.

Lyaskovets is primarily used for hillclimb racing, attracting competitors from across Bulgaria and neighboring countries. The event typically features a wide range of vehicles, from modified road cars to purpose-built single-seater hillclimb specials. The race format involves timed runs, with the fastest time determining the winner in each class. While predominantly a hillclimb venue, occasional rally sprint events have also been held on sections of the course.

What sets Lyaskovets apart is its blend of old-school charm and technical difficulty. The narrow track, lined with unforgiving barriers and limited run-off areas, demands precision and commitment. The enthusiastic local crowds add to the atmosphere, creating a vibrant and memorable experience for both drivers and spectators. The Lyaskovets Hillclimb remains a key fixture in the Bulgarian motorsport calendar, a testament to its enduring appeal and the passion of the local racing community.
