my friend Jojo was kind enough to lend me his car for testing… i want to try as many general common road cars. i think it is interesting to know the trackday capability of standard cars that is not design for circuit, and hope this inspire many people that you do not need sports car or many modifications or many excuses… if you want to learn how to drive on circuit, you can use any street car (within measure) and just practice your driving (with coach is safer)

when you get better and starting to reach the limit of your car, then you can upgrade… it is not about having the best car… it is about making the best of what you have…

the true competition is against our own selves…

back to toyota yaris. i feel the car is capable… but i feel the car is numb and does not give much feed back. a good feedback helps us learn the car situation on circuit and make adjustment while driving. but sensation aside, one of the major problem with this particular car is the brake is not strong enough. no matter how hard i press it i could not get the wheel to lock, i could not get the abs to active… felt like it is not biting.

since it is not a brand new car, this could be not the car’s fault… could be many other factors… pads, wheels too big (17), weak master cylinder… but it is ok, street car is never perfect for circuit… but we can learn many capabilities of the car on circuit like this brakes issue… in case of emergency stop in traffic, this will be a major issue that might caused an accident.

thank you for reading. thank you for watching.
