Autódromo Las Vizcachas メモ

The Autodromo Las Vizcachas is a 0.99-mile (1.59-km) raceway located in Puente Alto, a suburb of Santiago, the capital and most important city of Chile. The 5-turn road course opened its doors in 1965, hosting racing competitions such as the Formula 3 Sudamericana and other local club events. By 2006 the Autodromo Las Vizcachas was closed to cede the land for a housing project. After six years without racing activities, the raceway re-opened in 2012 and nowadays operates as an Advanced Driving Center providing training courses for sport and defensive driving. The pleasant Mediterranean climate of Santiago offers excellent atmospheric conditions for racing year-round.

The trajectory of Las Vizcachas is short and straightforward, running clockwise through 5 turns, three of them right-handers and two left-handers. Turn number one is the tightest of the road course and leads into a slight bend to the left at the beginning of the second straight. The third turn is easier to maneuver, allowing drivers to accelerate and gain momentum to pass the sweeping corner number four at high speed. The last corner is a tight right-hander taking racers back into the front straightaway, where they can give the best they can to be the first to get to the finish line.
