Porsche has set a new record on the Nürburgring Nordschleife in collaboration with Manthey-Racing GmbH. On Monday 14 June 2021, the 515 kW (700 hp) Porsche 911 GT2 RS with the Manthey Performance Kit lapped the 20.8-kilometre circuit in the presence of a notary in 6:43.300 minutes. This is the fastest ever lap of the track which has been nicknamed the Green Hell in a road-legal car.  The new performance kit was developed in close collaboration between the Porsche engineers in Weissach and the Nordschleife specialists at Manthey in Meuspath. The Porsche development driver Lars Kern was behind the wheel of the sports car.
