Dallara
IL-15
Notes
The Dallara IL-15 is a single-seater race car designed for Indy Lights competition, serving as the primary development series for aspiring IndyCar drivers. Powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder AER engine producing approximately 450 horsepower, the carbon fiber monocoque chassis weighs around 1,100 kg with driver. The car features a six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters and push-rod actuated suspension front and rear.
Introduced in 2015 as a replacement for the previous Dallara chassis, the IL-15 incorporates advanced aerodynamic elements including front and rear wings with adjustable flaps, underbody tunnels, and diffuser. Safety features meet FIA standards with energy-absorbing structures and HANS-compatible cockpit. The IL-15 provides crucial training ground for drivers transitioning to IndyCar, with similar handling characteristics at reduced speeds and costs while competing on the same oval and road course circuits.
