The Hankook Ventus Z214 is a track and competition tire designed for drivers seeking maximum grip and performance in dry and damp conditions. This tire caters to enthusiasts participating in autocross, time attack, and road racing events, as well as those looking for near-slick levels of grip for track days.

The Ventus Z214 is engineered to deliver exceptional dry traction, cornering power, and steering response, inspiring driver confidence and contributing to quick lap times. Its semi-slick design features a symmetrical tread pattern with two longitudinal grooves, optimizing performance on the circuit or during hill climbs. These grooves also aid in reducing unnecessary heat buildup and squirm, eliminating the need for tread shaving.

Most sizes of the Ventus Z214 are available in multiple high-grip tread compounds. The C71 compound is designed for autocross competition. The C51 compound is focused on track use. Each tire's compound is identifiable by a colored sticker and permanent sidewall branding. The tire's internal structure consists of twin steel belts reinforced by a spirally wrapped nylon cord on top of a three-ply nylon cord casing.

While the Ventus Z214 meets DOT requirements, it is not intended for highway use. Due to its soft compound and semi-slick design, it is not recommended for driving in wet conditions where standing water is present, as it is prone to hydroplaning. Like all R-compound tires, the Ventus Z214 should be stored indoors at temperatures above 32 degrees Fahrenheit and is not intended for use in near-freezing temperatures, snow, or ice. Heat cycling is recommended to enhance consistency and wear.
