Maggiori dettagli, tempi sul giro e video per Circuito Vasco Sameiro

Circuito Vasco Sameiro, also known as the Braga Street Circuit, is a challenging and historic racing circuit located in Braga, Portugal. Established in 1932, it is one of the oldest motorsport venues in the country, initially using public roads before evolving into a semi-permanent facility. The circuit is named after Vasco Sameiro, a prominent figure in Portuguese motorsport and a champion of the original street races.

The current layout is approximately 3.02 kilometers (1.88 miles) long and features a mix of fast straights, tight corners, and elevation changes, making it a demanding track for both drivers and engineers. The circuit's most famous corner is the "Curva do Lago" (Lake Curve), a sweeping left-hander that requires precise car control and courage. Other notable sections include the fast "Reta dos Tanques" (Tanks Straight) and the technical uphill section towards the "Curva do Cemitério" (Cemetery Curve). The track's narrow width and limited run-off areas add to the challenge and excitement.

Circuito Vasco Sameiro has hosted a variety of motorsport events throughout its history, including national and international touring car championships, Formula Ford, and various club-level races. It's also a popular venue for hill climbs and historic racing events, capitalizing on its heritage and challenging layout. The circuit's undulating nature and the close proximity of the barriers create a unique and intense racing experience. While purpose-built modern circuits offer higher safety standards, Circuito Vasco Sameiro retains a raw, old-school charm that appeals to drivers and fans alike. Its blend of history, challenge, and picturesque surroundings makes it a distinctive and cherished part of Portuguese motorsport.
