Experience a blistering 53.066-second lap at La Junta Raceway during the SCCA Rocky Mountain Region Time Trials, "In Search of the Great Pumpkin" event on October 12, 2024. This was my second day at the track and the first time driving this Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 here, achieving a competitive time without aerodynamic aids.

The TrackAddict app, paired with a Qstarz 818XT GPS, recorded my best lap at 53.119 seconds (my second hot lap, counted as lap 3). Official transponder timing, reported on Speedhive, confirmed an even faster 53.066 seconds. Track temperatures were unseasonably warm, in the high 80s.

The car was running on 285/30-18 Bridgestone RE71RS tires, with 10.5" wide wheels in the front and 10.0" in the rear. Earlier in the day, I ran slightly slower (53.415 seconds) on 295/30 tires with 11"-wide square wheels that had already undergone heat cycles.
