My first day out in the Lotus Elise S at Wakefield Park. PB for the day was 1:12.03, while I learn how to drive the new car.
This is the fifth session of the day, I am a little more familiar with the car. A lot of the understeer had been dialled out with damper adjustment, but I was still learning to manage the weight transfer as I came off the brakes and picked up the throttle so there were still times I was struggling with understeer. I also found myself approaching corners a lot faster than I should have
One of the front wheels was missing a wheel weight, and coupled with the mount not being tightened meant there was a lot of judder at higher speeds, to a point where the footage on the main straight is practically unwatchable.
Video (with OBD overlay) is filmed using the Track Recorder plug-in for the Torque app on a Samsung Galaxy S9+. It is a Bluetooth OBD dongle so there is a bit of lag in the communication between the OBD and the phone. I also forgot to re-zero the accelerometer.
