Road 6

Michelin

The Michelin Road 6 is a sport-touring tire designed for a wide range of motorcycles, including roadsters, sport bikes, and even some ADV models primarily used on pavement. It caters to riders seeking a balance of performance, durability, and wet-weather grip.

This tire distinguishes itself with enhanced wet grip, reportedly achieving a 15% increase compared to its predecessor, the Road 5, thanks to Michelin's 100% Silica Technology tread compounds and a new tread pattern featuring Water Evergrip Technology. The Michelin Road 6 also boasts a 10% longer tread life than the previous generation. Michelin's Road 6 typifies two decades of ongoing innovations and Michelin Technologies.

The Road 6 incorporates several construction features to optimize performance. Michelin 2CT+ Technology™, now applied to the front tire as well as the rear, enhances stability when cornering, especially under strong acceleration or heavy braking. This technology utilizes a harder center compound that extends under the softer shoulder compound, providing increased rigidity at lean. The tread pattern features new groove and sipe angles designed to improve transversal grip, while Michelin's Water Evergrip Technology™ helps maintain consistent water evacuation as the tire wears. Michelin's Premium Touch Technology is used in the design of the sidewalls to create texture, which in-turn allows it to modulate contrast and create shades of gray to highlight the tire markings and give an attractive finish.

While primarily a sport-touring tire, some riders have used the Road 6 on the track. However, it is important to note that it is not a dedicated track tire, and its performance may be limited under extreme track conditions.
