Motorsport Academy - Circuit De Lohéac Carte de la piste
Plus de détails, de temps au tour et de vidéos pour Motorsport Academy - Circuit De Lohéac

Circuit De Lohéac, home to the Motorsport Academy, is a renowned motorsport facility located in Lohéac, Brittany, France. Its history stretches back to 1973, when Michel Hommell, a passionate motorsport enthusiast, transformed his family's farm into a rudimentary track. Over the years, the circuit has evolved significantly, becoming a respected venue for various forms of racing.

The circuit's layout is a blend of fast, flowing corners and tight, technical sections, creating a challenging experience for drivers. The asphalt track itself is 2.2 kilometers (1.37 miles) long, incorporating a mix of high-speed straights, sweeping bends, and hairpin turns. The surface provides good grip, encouraging aggressive driving styles. A separate rallycross track is interwoven with the asphalt course, featuring a combination of dirt and asphalt sections, including the iconic 'joker lap'.

Technically, Circuit De Lohéac is known for its demanding braking zones and the need for precise throttle control. Suspension setup is crucial, as the track's undulations and varying surface conditions can easily upset the car's balance. Aerodynamics play a significant role on the faster sections of the circuit. The rallycross track presents its own unique challenges, requiring specific vehicle setups and driving techniques to navigate the loose surfaces effectively.

The circuit primarily hosts rallycross events, including rounds of the FIA World Rallycross Championship and the French Rallycross Championship. It also hosts various national and regional motorsport competitions, including touring car races, single-seater events, and track days. The Motorsport Academy provides driver training programs for both asphalt and rallycross disciplines. What makes Circuit De Lohéac unique is its intimate atmosphere and the passionate support of the local community, combined with its challenging layout that tests drivers of all skill levels.
