Race 3 of Round 6 of the 2022/23 BMW Race Driver Series held at Hampton Downs Motorsport Park.
The final race of the round AND the 22/23 season. It's all to play for. The goal in this race was to maximise points for the championship to try and stay near the top. With four of us on the flag drop it was a proper race into turn 1. I had a cracking start but with Padz in his E30 on the inside, I went a little wide and gave him room to sneak through. Coming into turn 4, hot boy Matty went full D-spec which held up Pads and it was my turn to slip up the inside, then around the outside of the dipper to hold off Matty and into fresh air.
From here it was pretty smooth sailing, eventually making my way through the slower traffic and just waiting for the fast boys to hunt us down which started with a brief, but great, ding-dong with Marty in his M3 at the start of lap 6, and ended on the front straight with everyone on maximum attack.
Great race and a great way to send off the season. Now we just wait for the points!
