Smolensk Ring, also known as Smolenskoye Koltso (Смоленск Ринг), is a permanent motorsport circuit located near the city of Smolensk, Russia. Opened in 2010, it quickly became a prominent venue for national and international racing events.



The circuit's layout is a challenging mix of high-speed straights and technical corners, designed to test both driver skill and vehicle performance. The 3.362 km (2.09 miles) track features 13 turns, including several demanding braking zones and flowing curves that reward precision and commitment. A notable feature is the elevation change throughout the lap, adding an extra layer of complexity to the driving experience.



Technically, Smolensk Ring is a Grade 2 FIA certified circuit, allowing it to host a wide range of racing series, excluding Formula 1. The track has a maximum width of 15 meters and a minimum width of 12 meters, ensuring ample space for overtaking maneuvers. The pit lane is located on the inside of the main straight, providing a safe and efficient environment for pit stops.



Smolensk Ring has hosted various racing disciplines, including touring car championships (Russian Touring Car Championship - RTCC), Formula series (Formula Russia), and GT racing events. It also serves as a popular venue for track days, driver training programs, and corporate events. The facility includes grandstands with spectator capacity, providing excellent views of the racing action.



What sets Smolensk Ring apart is its integration into a wider motorsport complex. Beyond the main circuit, the facility also includes a karting track and off-road driving areas, catering to a diverse range of motorsport enthusiasts. Its modern infrastructure and challenging layout have established it as one of Russia's premier racing destinations, contributing significantly to the growth of motorsport in the region.
