This was Mel's first session as a NASA level 2 driver, she got promoted from level 1 after 3 1/2 track days and the events at Ozark and Hedge Hollow. NASA wants to make sure you have a pretty good grip on track driving before they let you out there by yourself, in level 1 there is an instructor either with you or in a lead/follow watching from the car in front of you. The quality of instruction is excellent with both NASA MidAmerica and Great Lakes, I'm sure the others are great also but those two I can speak for personally. This lap is from one of her last sessions on Sunday afternoon at Hedge Hollow running the full course layout. Her line is really good and her braking points are much shorter than she was earlier in the event. Most importantly this is her first solo session, there is no instructor in the car telling her the best way to get around the track, this is all her driving fast. The car is her 2007 Mazda MX-5 Sport, MeisterR ClubRace coilovers, Profile Design sway bars with AWR end links, EBC slotted rotors & Greenstuff Pads, Azenis 615 200TW tires.
