After being outpaced by Allen Patten's formidable LGR-built Chevrolet C7 Corvette Z06 at Super Lap Battle COTA 2025, fellow competitors Alex and Jackie Ding sought out Allen and his builder, LGR, for insights into their record-smashing setup.

This video captures Allen's impressive 2:10.79 lap at Circuit of the Americas, showcasing the raw performance of this highly modified C7 Corvette. The team delves into the car's extensive modifications, including a Z06 stock motor, full ZeBulon aero package, Motec ECU, Bosch ABS, Emco sequential gearbox, Penske suspension, A12 wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2R tires (335/30/20), custom side-exit exhaust, and a full flat floor. Notably, the engine runs lower than stock boost, producing 835hp, and features individual cylinder tuning for an additional 40hp. The car weighs 3400 lbs with the driver.

The build was completed in a remarkable 60 days, transforming a bare Grand Sport chassis into this track monster. The team discusses the challenges of building a competitive time attack car, emphasizing the importance of data acquisition and readily available parts. They also highlight the Corvette's inherent motorsport advantages, such as its double-wishbone suspension and transaxle layout, which contribute to its superior handling compared to other platforms.

This episode of Time Attack Rivals provides a detailed look at what it takes to compete at the highest level of time attack, offering valuable lessons and inspiration for future builds.
