This video captures a practice lap in a Mazda MX-5 during an evening session before a GLTC race weekend. The car was running on 16 hc R7 Hoosier tires. The driver noted that the track conditions and temperature were significantly better than during the actual race weekend, as they were unable to achieve similar 1:38 lap times again, even with new tires. High intake air temperatures (IATs) were also identified as a factor, causing a reduction of 12-14 horsepower.
