While Pikes Peak International Raceway (PPIR) is the driver's home track, Heartland Motorsports Park presented a significant challenge, serving as a true test against top competitors in the class on an unfamiliar circuit. The event began promisingly with a new class lap record set in the first session. However, persistent issues and a broken gearbox on Saturday led to a 6th place standing by the end of the day.

A last-minute gearbox swap before Sunday's first session enabled this impressive lap, reclaiming the top position by a narrow margin of just 0.032 seconds. The competition was incredibly tight, with the top six cars in the class separated by only three-tenths of a second.
