We took the LVA GT350R to Gridlife's June 2024 Event at Mid Ohio Sports Car Course in Lexington, Ohio! With it being Brenden's second time ever running at Mid Ohio (and his first time in the GT350R), we decided to run in the Intermediate HPDE sessions to shakedown the car with all of its new changes.
Saturday was a WET one! Brenden spent the bulk of the Saturday sessions jogging his memory on "the line" and feeling out the track since it was recently repaved. Sunday was sunny and beautiful, ready for some quality laps. Session 1 landed a few laps in the low 1:40's. Brenden hit Session 2 with the goal of braking sooner and carrying more speed through the corners, instead of "over-braking" like he did in session 1. This resulted in a 1:38 lap time! In the third and final session of the day, Brenden continued to work on carrying more speed, while also implementing an earlier throttle application post-apex. The result you might ask? Well, the lap shown in this video - a 1:36.53!!!
The weekend was an absolute BLAST! Gridlife sure knows how to host an event. Our goal for the weekend was to prove our new LVA "Race" GT350R Front Splitter with a never-before-seen 2pc Air Dam, Side Fins, and FOUR V.2 Carbon Fiber Splitter Support Rods. In addition to scraping the ever living heck out of the Splitter coming out of Turn 9 lap after lap, this new Splitter setup was a massive contribution in achieving the 1:36.53 PB.
We set the Splitter's angle of attack to 0 degrees (dead flat), and the APR GTC-250 Wing's A0A to -3 degrees to keep the rear end planted under threshold braking and hill-cresting in a few corners. The downforce felt super balanced and confidence inspiring! Without it, we would've easily been seconds slower.
