Ride along for a POV attack of the Summit Point Jefferson Circuit Washington DC Region (WDCR) SCCA. The RE71RS have started to really come into full competitive pace, and the track conditions were the best you could ask for in June (~70F, dry). The car upgrades (wheels + tires, minor weight reduction) plus the tuning emphasis on stability allowed me to re-set the Tuner 4 lap record by a sizeable margin. In fact, i was able to put in eight laps (!) faster than the previous lap record. The previous records were set by fast drivers in well-prepped Honda S2000 and ND2 Miata, so i feel really stoked about having been able to establish a strong new record after the bar was set so high.

This was by no means a perfect lap - i think a 1:18 would be doable with more driver mod, especially in cool fall weather.

The track is getting bumpier, so unless they do a re-pave, i don't expect it to pick up much pace. How long will the new record stand? Only time will tell! ;-)
