“First time in this car. 3:10. Watch where it goes from here.” Porsche GT4 RS — 100% Stock | Michelin Cup2 | Driven to Track, On Track & Home
First outing in this car. 25°C, sunny. End of april.
Cup2s: exactly 1,500 km on them before the track — driven there from new.
-----
The Lap
3:10 on Cup2 — first time in the car. More seat time = cut 1–2 sec. Add Trofeo RS = another 1.5–2.5 sec. Target: 3:06 for sure. 3:03 — possible, but I’m not sure I can manage that.
-----
ESC
Never cut ESC straight away in a new car. I test it first. Track Precision App shows exactly where it triggers, how many meters, the delta. This lap: 7 triggers. Not bad. Next session I push harder — if it bothers me, it goes off. Overlay ESC vs no ESC and you instantly see what it costs. At 3:06 pace I’ll probably cut it completely.
-----
GT4 RS vs 992 GT3 RS
Bergmeister ran the GT4 RS 20 sec slower than the GT3 RS at Nürburgring 20.8 km — both Cup2R.
Transferred to Gotland 7.3 km — I estimate a stock GT4 RS is 7–10 sec slower than stock 992.1 GT3 RS. Not the fastest car — but more demanding, more fun, more of a handful. A lot of bang for the buck.
-----
