The Norma M20FC is a FIA Group CN sports prototype race car designed and produced by French constructor Norma Auto Concept, competing in sports car racing and hillclimb events since 2011. The M20FC features a 2.0-liter Honda Mugen K20 engine producing approximately 260 horsepower, paired with a Sadev SLR82 six-speed sequential gearbox with paddle shifters and Pectel Cosworth ECU. The full carbon fiber chassis with FIA-approved crash box achieves a minimum weight of approximately 1,256 pounds (570 kg), delivering exceptional power-to-weight ratio and prototype racing car performance.
The M20FC has dominated the CN category since introduction, achieving over 70 national and international titles including double championships at the FIA European Hill Climb Championship in 2014 and 2015. A variant powered by a 3.0L naturally aspirated Zytec V8 engine was developed for specific hillclimb competition. The CN (Competition National) category represents cost-controlled prototype racing below full LMP specifications, providing accessible entry into sports prototype competition with genuine racing car performance and sophisticated aerodynamics generating significant downforce. The M20FC features professional-grade components including adjustable suspension, racing brakes, and comprehensive data acquisition systems. Norma later developed the M30 LMP3 prototype (using a Nissan VK50VE V8 producing 420 hp) for the higher LMP3 category. The M20FC serves drivers seeking authentic prototype racing experience in hillclimb competition and circuit racing at lower operating costs than full LMP programs, while maintaining genuine racing car performance and handling dynamics. The car's success in European hillclimb competition demonstrates its performance capability in the hands of professional and amateur drivers.
