Mazda
RX-7 FB
Notes
The Mazda RX-7 FB, produced from 1978 to 1985, is the first generation of Mazda's iconic rotary-powered sports car. It features a lightweight, rear-wheel-drive design and is powered by Mazda's 1.1L or 1.3L rotary engine, known as the 12A and later the 13B. These engines deliver smooth, high-revving performance, with power outputs ranging from 100 to 135 hp, depending on the model and market.
The FB's styling includes a sleek wedge-shaped body, pop-up headlights, and a driver-focused cockpit. Its lightweight construction and near-perfect weight distribution make it agile and responsive on the road, earning it a reputation as a pure driver's car. The RX-7 FB is celebrated for introducing the rotary engine to a broader audience and laying the foundation for Mazda's rotary legacy.
