Le Nankang CR-S (anciennement connu sous le nom de CR-1) est un pneu été de performance extrême avec un indice UTQG de 200, spécifiquement conçu pour les pilotes de club participant aux courses de circuit, time attack, journées circuit et événements de conduite haute performance. Développé sur trois ans avec des tests approfondis, le CR-S représente l'évolution de Nankang par rapport à l'AR-1 déjà réussi, offrant des temps au tour plus rapides avec une constance améliorée et une meilleure gestion thermique.

Le CR-S présente un design de bande de roulement asymétrique conçu pour augmenter la rigidité afin d'atteindre des niveaux d'adhérence extrêmes tout en fournissant une réponse de direction directe. La construction de flanc renforcée à l'aramide offre une maniabilité précise et réactive avec des caractéristiques prévisibles qui inspirent confiance à la limite. Ce design de flanc robuste aide également à la gestion thermique, maintenant les performances pendant les sessions de piste prolongées.

La construction interne emploie une carcasse polyester deux plis pour améliorer la maniabilité et la stabilité, soutenue par deux larges ceintures en acier renforcées par une solide nappe d'aramide pour une meilleure capacité à haute vitesse. Le composé de flanc est spécifiquement conçu pour équilibrer la dissipation thermique avec la rigidité nécessaire pour une dynamique de conduite réactive mais prévisible.

Fonctionnant de manière optimale entre 70-100°C avec un delta de température maximum de 20°C entre les épaules intérieure et extérieure, le CR-S nécessite une gestion thermique appropriée pour des performances optimales. Nankang recommande un cycle de rodage initial.
