Milwaukee Mile (Oval) Carte de la piste
Plus de détails, de temps au tour et de vidéos pour Milwaukee Mile (Oval)

The Milwaukee Mile, located at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis, Wisconsin, is the oldest continuously operating motor speedway in the world. Its history dates back to 1903 when it hosted its first auto race on a dirt oval. The track was paved with asphalt in 1954, solidifying its place in motorsport history. Over the decades, it has witnessed legendary drivers and iconic moments across various racing disciplines.

The track layout is a nearly perfect one-mile (1.6 km) oval, characterized by its relatively flat banking. Turns 1 and 2 are slightly tighter than Turns 3 and 4, providing a subtle challenge for drivers to find the optimal line. The straights are relatively short, requiring precise braking and acceleration points. The track's flat profile demands a focus on mechanical grip and car setup, placing a premium on driver skill and car balance.

Throughout its history, the Milwaukee Mile has hosted a diverse range of racing series, including IndyCar (formerly CART and Champ Car), NASCAR's Xfinity Series and Truck Series, ARCA Menards Series, and various regional racing series. The track has seen victories from racing legends like A.J. Foyt, Mario Andretti, and Parnelli Jones. The track's relatively short length and flat banking lead to close-quarters racing and frequent lead changes, creating a thrilling spectacle for spectators.

What makes the Milwaukee Mile truly unique is its rich history and enduring legacy. As the oldest continually operating speedway, it connects generations of racing fans and drivers. The track's classic oval layout and challenging characteristics provide a distinctive racing experience, setting it apart from more modern, high-banked speedways. The Milwaukee Mile's historical significance and unique racing dynamic make it a beloved and iconic venue in American motorsports.
