This video captures my inaugural lap at Sonoma Raceway. Similar to my experience at Laguna Seca, I opted to use the car's stock OEM tires to maintain a slower pace for my first outing on this track. I was placed in the intermediate group due to the absence of a novice category, which meant I was navigating an unfamiliar track alongside more experienced drivers. Consequently, I was frequently overtaken during the initial sessions as I familiarized myself with the circuit. It was a humbling experience to be consistently slower than most of my group, making me momentarily wish I had used faster tires. However, learning on slower tires proved beneficial. Sonoma Raceway is indeed a very demanding track!
