Round 3 of the 2021 NSW Supersprint season held at SMSP on 30/05/21.
Returned to SMSP for round 3 of the season after replacing my damaged gearbox a few weeks prior. Heading into this round i didn't like my chances of a topping my class as North Circuit is a very power dominant layout. Something my S2000 lacks haha.
It was still good to get out there and have some fun and in the end i wasn't as bad off as i thought i'd be, only trailing at the end of the day by 0.4 seconds!
I finished the day with a new PB of 1:10.19 beating my previous time of 1:11.4. However watching the video back and going over the data shows that the car easily has a mid to high 1:09 in it. The session after this i was 0.5 seconds up on this lap through sectors 1/2 but messed up the last sequence of corners and threw the lap away. 1:09s will be my goal for the next round that gets held on this layout.
This event was also the first time i got to run the new Bridgestone RE71RS tyres and alternated them with the Advan A052 to collect comparitive data which i'll continue to compile over the rest of the year.
