First time out at One Raceway running the Shelley Circuit layout for the breakfast session and what a way to start the day.
We have done Wakefield plenty of times but Shelley is a completely different beast. Much more technical with reduced visibility in key sections and some corners especially the Fish Hook are seriously challenging when you do not have clear braking markers to reference.
It was a great day with Jary and Sam. We managed a 1:06.7 which we are pretty happy with considering it was our first proper run at this layout.
Conditions were not ideal. Running around midday with temperatures over 30 degrees meant the tarmac was extremely hot and traction was a challenge. It made for great practice and valuable learning.
All good preparation heading into Round 1 of the State Championship next month. Looking forward to more seat time and continuing to chip away at the lap time.
