2022: The model debuted with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine producing 503 hp and 650 Nm of torque, paired with an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission. It featured xDrive all-wheel drive, achieved 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, and had M-specific styling with a luxurious interior including Merino leather and M carbon bucket seats.
2023: Updates included the introduction of the iDrive 8 infotainment system with a curved display, enhanced driver assistance features such as adaptive cruise control, and expanded customization options for interior trims and exterior colors.
2024: Power was increased to 523 hp for the Competition xDrive model. Subtle design changes included redesigned headlights and new wheel options. Interior updates introduced a flat-bottom steering wheel with a red 12 o'clock marker and updated ambient lighting. BMW Operating System 8.5 was implemented for an improved user interface.
