918 Spyder

Notes

Porsches are known for their superior performance and aerodynamic looks. Still, the Porsche 918 Spyder takes its reputation to the next level as the quintessential hypercar ever produced by the German manufacturer. This beast comes as a futuristic, limited-production, plug-in hybrid hypercar, belonging to the new wave design scheme and maintaining the refinement of Porsche at the same time. This two-door/mid-engine/all-wheel-drive is entirely street legal. Designed by Michael Mauer, its production began in 2013 at the Stuttgart plant in Germany. It packs a naturally-aspirated 4.6L V8 engine and two electric motors to obtain a combined output power of 875 Hp and a 7-speed gearbox coupled to the brand's own PDK double-clutch system. The car reaches a maximum speed of 214 Mph and goes from 0-62 Mph in as little as 2.6 seconds, no wonder why it was the first production car to lap the Nurburgring in under 7 minutes. This speed-hungry creature delivers all the power any speed lover would love to feel and more.

The Porsche 918 Spyder is the ultimate Eco-friendly Supercar anyone with a large wallet could ask for, with aggressive looks, impeccable efficiency, smooth handling, and unbeatable top-notch performance. It features a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic monocoque chassis, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires on 19/20-inch wheels, and an electrically boosted braking system. The Hybrid motor works efficiently, delivering a whopping 3.5L/ 100km fuel economy never seen before in a production car. The excellence of its build quality, high-end details, and overall performance is worth $1,500,000 on the market today.

YEAR NOTES

2013: Porsche began production of the 918 Spyder in September, initially offering it with a 4.6L V8 engine paired with two electric motors for a combined output of 887 hp and 944 lb-ft of torque. The 918 Spyder featured an all-wheel-drive system, a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission, and advanced aerodynamics, including an adjustable rear wing and active aero elements. Porsche also offered the Weissach Package, which added lightweight components such as magnesium wheels and additional carbon fiber, reducing weight by around 90 pounds and enhancing performance.
2014: The 918 Spyder continued production with no significant mechanical changes. The Weissach Package remained available, providing increased track performance and weight reduction. Porsche delivered a small number of these limited units, each customized to the owner's specifications.
2015: Final year of production, with no notable updates, as Porsche concluded the 918 Spyder's production run in June. The model maintained its record-breaking performance, capable of achieving 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds and reaching a top speed of 214 mph. The 918’s production was limited to 918 units worldwide, making it highly exclusive.
