Returned to King of QR for the first time in the new BRZ to hopefully set some new PBs.
Came away with 1st place in my class and the quickest NA car behind a Porsche GT3RS which was pretty amazing. I hung around the top 25% of the field all day was pretty awesome considering QR is a bit of a drag strip and I am way down on power compared to the turbo cars.
The day started off a bit slowly while unexpectedly smashing the limiter at 7,400 on the first gear change with the latest race tune not loading correctly. After a bit of a reset of my driving style managed to get back into the grove and be down on my PB by .3 while being way down on power.
We reloaded the last tune back into the car and we were back in business for Clubman. Dropped half a second off my PB and a 58 sec lap was oh so close!
The lap of Sportsman was the lap of the day - every sector was a personal best and such a tidy lap. Mid corner in T1 was 144 and T2 was 137 (usually 133 or so) which was pretty ridiculous - need to reset my expectations next time out.
The final session of the day was on Sprint and chasing a 55-second lap time. Unfortunately, a few scrappy exits of the dipper meant I only got down to a 56.2 (PB by .4sec) Timing had the optimal lap at 55.9 so hopefully next time.
