This video captures an unexpected personal best lap during Round 2, Session 2 of the 2018 Natsoft Time Trials at Pheasant Wood Circuit. The driver had a nominated lap time of 1:05.500, as did another competitor, Wayne, in a Lexus IS200. Wayne was running under his nominated time, which unfortunately impacted the driver's final two laps.

During this lap, the driver executed a very late and deep dive into Turn 1 after noticing Wayne in their mirror. They managed to keep a tight inside line while Wayne maintained a clean outside line, running side-by-side into Turn 2, where the driver again took a much tighter line than usual. Despite these maneuvers, the first sector of this lap turned out to be half a second faster than previous attempts. The lap concluded with an official personal best time of 1:04.500.

Upon reviewing sector times, the driver noted that taking the first two corners much tighter and slower might be the key to achieving a super fast Sector 1. Special thanks to Wayne for maintaining a wide line during the close racing.
