Notes
The Subaru BRZ Mk2 is the second-generation model of Subaru’s popular rear-wheel-drive sports coupe, introduced in 2022. Developed in collaboration with Toyota, the Mk2 BRZ shares its platform with the Toyota GR86 but retains Subaru’s unique engineering touches. The new BRZ is powered by a 2.4L naturally aspirated flat-four boxer engine that produces 228 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque—a substantial improvement over the previous generation's 2.0L engine, addressing previous criticisms about lack of low-end torque.
The BRZ Mk2 features a lightweight and rigid chassis with a low center of gravity, thanks to the boxer engine and strategic use of high-strength steel. The car is available with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Its suspension has been tuned for balance and responsiveness, making it highly enjoyable on winding roads and track days. The new platform also provides improved handling dynamics and stability, building on the first generation’s reputation for sharp, predictable handling.
The BRZ Mk2 has a redesigned exterior with a sleeker, more aerodynamic profile, including LED headlights, a wider grille, and aggressive body lines. Inside, the cabin features upgraded materials, a digital gauge cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and supportive sport seats. Subaru retained the minimalist, driver-focused layout, enhancing comfort while keeping distractions to a minimum.
The Mk2 BRZ has been well-received for its enhanced power, improved handling, and classic sports coupe feel, offering an accessible, engaging experience for driving enthusiasts.
