Acura Integra LS DC4

メモ

The 1994-2001 Acura Integra LS (chassis codes DC4 for coupe, DB7 for sedan) represented the base sport trim of the third-generation Integra, featuring the non-VTEC B18B1 1.8-liter DOHC inline-four engine. With 1,834cc displacement and 9.2:1 compression ratio, the B18B1 produced 142 hp at 6,300 rpm and 127 lb-ft of torque at 5,200 rpm (140 hp/135 lb-ft in some market specifications). While lacking the VTEC variable valve timing of the GS-R (170 hp B18C1) and Type R (195 hp B18C5) variants, the LS provided excellent reliability, fuel economy, and a smooth power delivery ideal for daily driving with respectable performance for its era.

Weighing 2,643 lbs for the 2-door coupe and 2,703 lbs for the 4-door sedan, the Integra LS offered excellent handling characteristics through Honda front-wheel drive platform with double wishbone suspension. The B18B1 engine featured 4.0 quarts oil capacity and precise valve clearances (0.003-0.005 intake, 0.006-0.008 exhaust when cold), contributing to Honda legendary reliability. The third-generation Integra LS became enormously popular in the sport compact tuning community, with the B18B1 platform proving capable of significant naturally aspirated or forced induction power increases. The combination of reliable non-VTEC power delivery, light weight, excellent handling dynamics, and strong aftermarket support established the Integra LS as an icon of 1990s sport compact performance and an accessible entry point into Honda performance culture.
