XR1 Team Issue TLR

The Bontrager XR1 Team Issue TLR is a high-performance tire meticulously engineered for competitive track and cross-country racing. It targets riders who prioritize speed and rapid acceleration on firm, fast courses. This tire is a favored choice among Trek Factory Racing athletes, indicating its suitability for World Cup-level competition.

The XR1 Team Issue TLR distinguishes itself with a smooth, fast-rolling center tread that minimizes rolling resistance and maximizes acceleration. More aggressive side treads provide enhanced cornering confidence and grip on technical sections. The tire utilizes a proprietary TM-Speed compound, designed to optimize rolling speed without compromising traction.

Bontrager employs its Inner Strength casing technology in the XR1 Team Issue TLR. This design incorporates a lightweight nylon insert that fortifies the sidewalls, enhancing durability and puncture protection without adding unnecessary weight. The tire's construction also features a 120 TPI (threads per inch) casing, contributing to a supple and responsive ride feel. The XR1 Team Issue TLR is tubeless-ready (TLR), facilitating easy tubeless setup and enabling riders to run lower tire pressures for improved traction and reduced risk of pinch flats.

Compared to other tires in its category, the XR1 Team Issue TLR strikes a balance between low weight, rolling efficiency, and durability. While its low-profile tread pattern may not offer the most aggressive grip in extremely loose or wet conditions, it excels on hardpack and fast-rolling terrain. Its design makes it a competitive option against models like the Maxxis Aspen and Pirelli Scorpion XC RC. The XR1's supple casing and reinforced sidewalls provide a measure of protection often absent in ultra-lightweight race tires.
