M-Ring (AX) Track Map
More details, lap times & videos for M-Ring (AX)

M-Ring, located near Mariapócs in Hungary, is a modern motorsport circuit with a relatively short but challenging layout. Constructed in 2003, it was designed primarily for motorcycle racing, though it also hosts various car racing events. While not a Formula 1 track, M-Ring serves as a crucial proving ground for local and regional racing talent, and it plays a significant role in developing Hungarian motorsports.

The circuit layout is compact, measuring approximately 2.87 kilometers (1.78 miles) in length. It features a blend of tight, technical corners and faster, flowing sections, demanding precision and skill from drivers and riders. The track’s relatively narrow width contributes to intense racing action, often resulting in close battles and strategic overtaking maneuvers. Elevation changes are moderate, adding another layer of complexity to the track's character.

Technically, M-Ring is known for its abrasive asphalt, which can lead to higher tire wear, forcing teams to carefully manage their rubber throughout a race. The circuit's configuration includes several hairpin turns, requiring strong braking performance and effective acceleration out of corners. The long, sweeping right-hander leading onto the main straight provides a good opportunity for overtaking, but it also demands courage and commitment. Runoff areas are generally adequate, offering a reasonable margin of safety.

M-Ring primarily hosts motorcycle racing events, including national championships and international competitions. It is also a popular venue for various car racing series, such as touring car championships, formula categories, and club racing events. Test days and track days are frequently held, allowing amateur and professional drivers and riders to hone their skills. The circuit's unique characteristic lies in its compact layout and demanding nature, which provides a challenging and rewarding experience for all who race there. Its location away from major urban centers also contributes to a more intimate and focused racing atmosphere.
