In February 2024, during the Repco Bathurst 12 Hour weekend, Mercedes-AMG factory driver Jules Gounon set a new unofficial GT lap record at Mount Panorama Circuit on a Mercedes-AMG GT3.
Driving a specially modified GT3, Gounon completed the 6.213 km track in 1:56.6054, surpassing the previous closed-cockpit record of 1:58.690 set in 2019.
