1999: Introduced with the RB26DETT 2.6-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine producing 276 hp and 392 Nm of torque. Featured the ATTESA E-TS Pro all-wheel-drive system, a 6-speed Getrag manual transmission, and an active limited-slip differential. The Multi-Function Display (MFD) debuted, providing performance data. The V-Spec model added advanced aerodynamics, upgraded suspension, and enhanced ATTESA controls.
2000: The V-Spec II was introduced, featuring a stiffer suspension setup, lightweight aluminum hood, and minor interior updates. Additional customization options became available.
2001: The M-Spec variant was launched, emphasizing ride comfort with a softer suspension and leather upholstery. This year also introduced the Nür edition, featuring a reinforced engine block, upgraded turbos, and exclusive badging.
2002: Final production year for the R34 GT-R. The Nür variants, including V-Spec II Nür and M-Spec Nür, were produced in limited numbers with upgraded components inspired by Nissan's racing efforts. Production ended to make way for the next-generation GT-R.
