Sturup Raceway Note

Sturup Raceway is Sweden's most southerly circuit, located in Svedala, just 25 minutes from Malmö, conveniently situated next to Malmö Airport. Originally established as a rallycross venue in the 1970s, the facility has been converted to circuit racing in stages since 1990. In 1990 the track was upgraded and became fully asphalted for the first time. Major work in 2004 and 2005 included a significant track extension from 1.100 kilometers (0.684 miles) to 2.133 kilometers (1.325 miles) with a new pit lane. The current circuit spans approximately 2.5 kilometers (1.55 miles).

The track features a total of 11 turns, including a mix of fast corners and technical sections that test driver skill and precision. Sturup Raceway is characterized as a tight and twisty roller-coaster ride that offers little in the way of respite for riders and drivers. It is a very slow track with an overall average speed of 99 km/h (62 mph). Several major competitions have been run at the facility, including the DTC (Danish Touring Car Championship) and STCC (Scandinavian Touring Car Championship). Today, Sturup is largely used for testing, driver training, and manufacturer promotional days, serving as an important motorsport facility in southern Sweden.
