Hi everyone! Here's is a couple fast, bumpy Willow Springs laps in a race-prepared '86 Porsche 911 built to POC GT3 regulations. Filmed during open practice for POC's Tribute to Le Mans weekend as I set reference data and video to coach with.
This is likely the highest average speed I've sustained in a single lap, don't think it dropped under 90mph very much! No power steering, power brakes, driver aids, etc. 10 laps began to have similar fatigue levels to a race! So, so enjoyable to put on the limit with no artificial ties between you and the machine. Easily the most fun racing car I've had the fortune to lap this year! While these laps had their flaws and I have plenty still to learn with old 911's, it gives a good perspective on what it was like (apart from the arm fatigue).
Again a unique experience to learn rear-engine dynamics of old 911's especially around a circuit this quick, although the aerodynamic modifications and widened stance help this 911 retain a less aggressive wei...
