The Honda Civic VTI EK4 embodies the sixth generation of Civics, coming in a 3-door/front-engine/front-wheel drive hot hatch presentation. It was designed by Masakazu Udagawa and assembled in Suzuka, Japan, from 1996 to 2000. This utilitarian hatchback model packs a 1.6L DOHC VVTECH engine delivering 160PS of maximum output at 7600Rpm, with 153 Nm of torque at 7000Rpm. It partners with a 5-speed manual transmission to take this vehicle from 0-62 MPH in 7.7 seconds, reaching a top speed of 132 MPH. It features a rear-mid spoiler, front and rear bumper, and 15-inch Speedline Chrono alloy wheels to improve its aerodynamic performance.
The Honda Civic VTI EK4 belongs to a limited edition released for the United Kingdom, with only 200 units produced in 1998. Its current value of $2,430 places it in the market segment of affordable but capable units. The 195/55/R15 stock tire set coming from stock uses a double-wishbone suspension and a ventilated brake system. On the interior, it includes half-leather sports-style seats, electric windows, air conditioning, and a dashboard instrument light dimmer. The EK4 is an overachiever, offering many great features and remarkable performance for such a low cost, so it is definitely an excellent deal not to be missed.
