The Guia Circuit, located in Macau, China, is a challenging and iconic street circuit that has hosted motorsport events since 1954. Initially conceived as a local treasure hunt route, it quickly evolved into a demanding race track, attracting both local and international competitors. The circuit is a temporary layout, utilizing existing city roads that are closed to public traffic during race weekends.

The circuit's layout is a unique blend of high-speed straights and tight, twisting corners. It's approximately 6.120 km (3.803 miles) long and characterized by significant elevation changes and varying road surfaces. The first half features fast sections like the Mandarin Oriental Bend and Lisboa Bend, where cars reach top speeds before braking heavily for the sharp turn. The second half winds through the narrow, undulating streets of the old city, demanding precision and bravery. Key corners include Melco Hairpin, one of the tightest turns in motorsport, and the Fisherman's Bend, a challenging downhill section.

Technically, the Guia Circuit is renowned for its unforgiving nature. The narrow track width and concrete barriers leave little margin for error. Overtaking is notoriously difficult, making qualifying crucial. The circuit favors drivers who possess exceptional car control, bravery, and the ability to adapt to changing conditions. The track surface is also uneven in places, adding another layer of complexity.

The Guia Circuit has hosted a variety of racing events over the years, including Formula 3, World Touring Car Championship (WTCC), and motorcycle races. The Macau Grand Prix, held annually, is the highlight of the racing calendar, attracting top drivers and teams from around the world. The event typically features Formula 3, GT World Cup, and Touring Car races.
