For comparison, a competitor in the Spec Corvette class, running on Falken DOT 220 treadwear tires with a minimum weight of 3200 pounds, achieved a fastest lap of 1:53.999. The Miata, on Hoosier slicks and a minimum weight of 2100 pounds, managed to outpace the Corvette despite the latter having approximately three times the horsepower.
