When we heard that Greg Murphy, the man who set the ‘Lap of the Gods’ around the Bathurst Mount Panorama Circuit, was coming to the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard, we were more than a little excited. Not only was he attending, but he’d be competing in the Timed Shoot-Out in his Bathurst 24-Hour Holden Monaro 427C. Cue Goodwood office fist bumps. Why? You may ask. Well, other than Greg being a legend, that Monaro has a 7.0-litre V8 that sounds utterly biblical.
We followed Greg’s progress throughout the weekend as he competed for the Touring cars class and overall Timed Shoot-Out wins. The new Touring cars class had a Holden Commodore, with Jake Hill at the wheel, and a Nissan HR31 GTS-R Skyline, the winner of the ATCC in 1990. Not a bad group, eh?
