CCX

The Koenigsegg CCX, produced from 2006 to 2010 with 49 examples manufactured, represents Koenigsegg first model designed to meet global safety and emissions regulations including US market compliance. The bespoke Koenigsegg aluminum 4,700 cc V8 features 4 valves per cylinder, double overhead camshafts, and twin Rotrex centrifugal superchargers delivering 1.4 bar boost pressure. Producing 806 PS (795 hp/593 kW) at 7,000 rpm and 920 Nm (679 lb-ft) at 5,500 rpm with 8.2:1 compression ratio and dry sump lubrication with oil spray piston cooling, the 178 kg engine was designed to run on 91 octane fuel meeting Californian emission standards.

Performance includes 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and top speed exceeding 395 km/h (245+ mph). The CCX (Competition Coupe X, X representing the 10th anniversary of Koenigsegg CC prototype) featured removable hardtop, carbon fiber construction, and sophisticated aerodynamics. The combination of supercharged V8 power, lightweight construction, emissions compliance, and exclusivity (49 units) established the CCX as significant milestone in Koenigsegg evolution from boutique manufacturer to globally-compliant hypercar producer. The CCX demonstrated Swedish engineering capability to meet stringent worldwide regulations without compromising extreme performance, paving the way for subsequent Koenigsegg models including Agera and Regera while maintaining the brand focus on innovation and ultimate performance.
