As part of R&T's 2020 Performance Car of the Year testing, we lapped the contenders at Thunderhill Raceway's west course to get a baseline of what they could do. That included the C8 Corvette with the Z51 package. Our EIC Travis Okulski was driving these laps, and there are a few things we should make clear before you view the video and then hit the comments:

- He's not a pro, but is a licensed club racer.

- This is the first day he's ever spent at Thunderhill West, so the lap isn't perfect.

- The idea isn't to run an all-out record, but instead to make sure we get a representative time for the car.
