Mobility Resort Motegi - Twin Ring Motegi Notas

Mobility Resort Motegi, formerly known as Twin Ring Motegi, is a comprehensive motorsport venue located in Motegi, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. The facility was built in 1997 by Honda Motor Co., Ltd., and on March 1, 2022, the name was changed to Mobility Resort Motegi, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the facility. The complex features two race tracks: a 2.493-kilometer (1.549-mile) oval track and a 4.801-kilometer (2.983-mile) road course.

The road course, which serves as the MotoGP circuit, measures 4.796 kilometers (2.980 miles) in length and features 13 to 14 corners, including 90-degree turns and consecutive hairpin curves. The circuit holds FIA Grade 2 certification and is characterized by its technical layout with tight corners and heavy braking zones. By Japanese standards, the circuit is exceptionally flat, with only a slight elevation rise towards the hairpin turn. The circuit hosted its first MotoGP race in 1999 and has been the venue for the Pacific Motorcycle Grand Prix from 2000 to 2003 and the Japanese Motorcycle Grand Prix since 2004. The oval course was last raced on in 2010 by the IndyCar Series, as damage from an earthquake in 2011 led to subsidence which has rendered the oval course unsuitable for continued racing. Mobility Resort Motegi remains one of Japan's premier motorsport facilities and an important venue on the MotoGP calendar.
